New Loo & Shower
Many people have been asking about our new loo and shower. The old bucket shower is still working but we have got a bit more organised and we’ve upgraded. As you can see in the photos we’ve got a new flushing loo and a sink with hot and cold running water.
Everything is in a new wooden building where the old long-drop loo used to be. The long-drop loo has been moved to a new location sort of discretely in the middle of the site.
The Bucket Shower
The shower has a very simple operation. First, take one of the metal buckets and fill it with water. Heat the water by putting the metal bucket on your campfire. Carry the hot water back to the shower (taking care not to burn your hands) and tip it into the shower bucket. Add cold water get the right temperature and to make a longer shower time. Hoist the bucket into the tree and turn the tap on.
We also have 2 very nice long-drop loos. If these are at all smelly then please let us know as we keep loads of saw-dust on site. A liberal sprinkling is all it takes to make them sweet again.
Washing up stand
You are welcome to use our wash stand for washing up. It’s pretty basic but it is a sink and a draining board so you don’t have to do the washing up on the ground it you don’t want to.
Our barn has sockets and a freezer for re-freezing your icepacks. it is a great communal space. we sometimes set up a bar there and occasionally have live music.
The barn has got it’s own page in the galleries section.
We have some really cool tents set up for hire. If you want to check them out please look at the Our tents section in the galleries section or visit this website to make a booking
